Cricket Update

Here's an update of cricket!

I've played 3 games from the last time I posted about cricket.

Now 2 weeks ago in 16's, we lost but would of smashed them heaps if we had all our players because we only had 7 players.

We fielded first, they got 137 runs off us.

We then batted and only got 103 runs off 20 overs.

In 3rd grad it was so sad. We batted first only got 54 runs, all out.

Then they batted and got 60 off only 8 overs, so they won.

Now two days ago in 16's

Our team fielded first, got them out for 67 runs, (It's still 20 overs each, we play 40 overs each next week).

I bowled got 2/8, the cool thing is next week I'm on a hat-trick.

Our batting went sort of bad, in the first over it was 0/2 for wickets. But then by the 11 over we were 7/70, then I went in and got 8 in about 4 balls.

But our total scored was 104 in 15 overs.

So cricket has gone pretty well.

In the past 6 months we've been renovating.

Dad's the builder (He doesn't build for a living)

It's pretty impressive.

Now J.D and I used to live in a big room together, but now Dad has split them up and we have our own rooms.

So that's basically what happened over the past 6 months I haven't posted much.

The Lost Stories

Rangers Apprentice book 11 came out about 3 weeks ago.

It's an unmissable read, it explains everything that I've been wondering about for awhile.

And it is a really good book.

Rating probably about 10/10.

And all the Ranger's Apprentice books are 10/10, they are one of the best series I reckon.

They are very funny.

Cricket Starts

It's cricket season!!

Cricket started about 3 weeks ago.

I'm playing for the same club, but playing in 16's instead of 14's.

In 16's we play on a turf pitch (which means the pitch is basically hard dirt).

Which is a bit of a change from 14's, because in 14's we play on a basically concrete pitch.

And I'm playing for 3rd grade, and this year Dad, my brother and me are playing in which is fun.

In 16's, my team played well for the first game of the season.

It was a 20/20 (We play 20 overs fielding, than 20 overs batting).

We fielded first, got two wickets which isn't good or bad. The other team got 140 runs in 20 overs.

When we batted they got 5 wickets, and we scored 110 runs.

I balled 2 overs, got one wicket and didn't catch any.

On the batting side, I faced 2 balls and all the 20 overs were over. I never got out.

With the second game we fielded first and got 110 runs hit off us and only got 2 wickets again.

I balled terrible got about 15 runs hit off my which most were no-balls.

Then our team came out to bat, we got 157 runs in 20 overs. Again an annoying thing happened I went in with 4 balls to go, got no runs and didn't get out.

Ok with 3rd grade, my team didn't go that well.

We fielded they got 171 runs off 40 overs, with 8 out in 20 overs.

Then the horrible thing happened we had 115 runs in 20 overs, so we had 20 overs left and only had 2 people out. And got out in the next 14 overs with only about 150 altogether.

On the second game fielded first again, in 16's and 3rd grade our team hasn't batted first.

They got 209 runs in 40 overs.

We batted we thought we were going to get smashed, but something strange happened. We got 215 in 28 overs. One of our batsman got 108 runs (Not-Out). So we won easily, with only 3 batsman out in our team.

So had lot's of fun so far.

Movie World

We went to Movie World on Tuesday!!

It was so awesome.

There were so many good rides and shows.

The rides I liked were Superman Escape, Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster, Wild West Falls.

Shows I like: Stunt Driver, Batman Show. (There was lot's of other shows but I never watched them 'cause I was having fun on rides).

Soccer Update

Last Saturday, we played our second game.

We were versing the team that came 7th last year, and we beat them 5-0

Our team didn't play that well, we were keep on shooting straight at the goolkeeper.

But we did only have 9 players, and they had 12.

We have no games on today and next week because of School Holidays.

We're first on the ladder now, hopefully stay there, but we probably won't.

Holiday

Holiday!!

We had lot's of fun there, it was so awesome.

One week ago Monday, we went to the Gold Coast (Queensland Australia).

On the Monday we got to Wet'n'wild at 9.45 AM, and lined up.

After it opened at 10.00 AM, we went in.

All day we had lot's of fun there on all of the rides.

My favourite was Kamikaze.

We left at about 3.50 PM, because it was cold and we had to get to Sea World Resort, and unpack.

After we unpacked, we went to a place, where we had a buffet Tea. Which is all you can eat.

Then after tea, went back to the Resort and went to bed.

In the morning we had a Buffet Breakfast, at the Resort (Which was good).

We only had to walk just outside of the Resort to come to Sea World.

At Sea World we saw a Dolphin Show, which was so amazing.

We went to the Shark Pool, which had lot's of Sharks, and fishes in it.

The next day we went to Sea World again, and went to the Water Park there.

And we left about 1:30PM, and arrived home later that day.

We had a wonderful holiday.

Soccer Update

We versed the best team from last year, and we won.

In the end we scored 3 goals, and they scored 0.

We are pretty good this year.

In the first half I was right-back, but every time there was a corner I had to go up a kick the corner kick.

I was captain this week, but someone said it was for the whole year, but I'm not sure.

Our family is going to the Gold Coast tomorrow. We are going to Wet'n'Wild (a theme park). We're staying over night, and going to Seaworld the next day (which will be fun, cause I've never been there. And we're staying over again and coming back home the next day.

It will be fun.

I'll post about it on Wednesday when I get back.

Soccer

We have nearly started soccer again, it starts this Saturday, we have been training for 2 weeks and I reckon we are going to be pretty good this season.

There is some new players, and a new coach which is nice and good.

Last year we came 4th but we versed the older grade.

I play in U/14's and play in the same team as last year.

We have 11 or 12 players so that will be good, because last year we had about 4 subs each game.

So I will update on what the game turns out to be like.

Cricket Finals

As all of you probably know Grace and Naomi's team won the Grand Finals.

Our played pretty good, after you didn't start to good it was like 2/9 that is very bad.

But in the end we had about 113 runs with only 3 out in 20 overs.

The other team started off with a good start but we got some of the batsman out and the run rate went down fairly far.

But any way they won by about 3 runs and a over, only one over.

Sorry I didn't post for a long time.

Cricket Update

My team played cricket yesterday.

Our team went alright.

We got the other team out for 61 runs in 17 overs.

And our team got 4/114 in 23 overs.

Next week we bat for another 17 overs and try to get the most runs we can.

Then after our overs the other team bats for another 23 overs and we want to get them out before the overs run out so we get an outright win, and that will be cool.

When we balled I got 1 wicket for 8 runs from 2 overs.

When we batted I opened and got 14 runs.

Hope we get them out next week.

Riddle Answers

First Riddle:

The Second Riddle:

Q: Once there was a man, he lived in a apartment. The apartment was 40 stories high, the man lived on the 30th floor. He worked everyday in town.

On sunny days the man comes back to the apartment after a days work, but he only goes up the elevator to the 8th floor and walks the rest of the way up the stairs to his floor.

But on rainy days he comes back to the apartment after the days work, and goes up the elevator all the way to his floor. Why Does He Do This?

A: The elevator buttons started at the bottom of the elevator, and went up to the top of the elevator as the floors got higher. The man was a miniature man, so on sunny days he couldn't reach his floor button, the highest button he could push was the 8th button which went to the 8th floor. That's why he had to walk the rest of the way. But on rainy days he had his umbrella with him, so he could reach the button for his floor.

No one got this one right, but good try for the people who had a try.

So that's the answers.

Hope you know what I'm talking about.

I didn't tell the answer to a riddle I told ages ago so I'm going to have another contest on it.
It's pretty hard if anyone wants to know.

Here's the riddle:
A Bad Man

A badman buried four men in the desert up to their necks.

Threeof the men were facing in one direction and the fourth man was facing the otherthree men but he couldn’t see them because there was a wall in the way.

Thebad man blind folded them and placed a white or black hat on each of them,there were two white hats and two black hats. Then he removed the blindfolds.

Afterhe placed the hats on them, he said that whoever can tell him what colour hatthey had on he would let that person go and let the other three die. So yourtask is to find out who knows 100% what hat he has on.

The order of the hats: oneon the far left is white, next one in is black, then white and the end one isblack. Tell me which man knew 100% what colour hat he had on his head and why. The men didn't know which colour hat they had on remember.

This contest ends on the 6th March (Which I reckon is a wonderful day)

Christmas

Christmas has past a long time ago but I'll see post about it. Now I have to wait nearly another year before it comes again. (That's the bad thing)

We had a wonderful time on Christmas day.

Things I did on Christmas day:

I woke up Christmas day, opened Christmas presents from Dad and Mum. All the presents were good.

The things I got from Dad and Mum:

Body-board.
Cane Hat.
Beach Towel.
Snorkel Set
Snorkel Set
A Music CD.

And the main present I got was a Ripstick.(It is awesome)

Then we played with some of those presents until we went to one of our Uncle and Aunts place for tea, and to get presents from most of our related families.

From there, I got a Remote-control Helicopter, a Beach foot ball thing, and a remote-control car but I gave that to N.S because I already have lot's of remote-control cars.

Then we went home and went to bed, and Christmas day was over for the year.

Sorry I didn't post this before now.

Cricket

As some of you would already know that I'm playing cricket again this year.

I'm playing in 14/U's again this year.

In the same club.

There are not very many players that played last year playing this year.

We played about 5 games, but heaps of games got washed out.

Our team is going pretty good, we've won every game until last week, which we went so bad on.
When we balled, in the first 5 overs, we had 4 out for 9 runs which is heaps good. But they made 150 runs in the end. (Which means we played very bad)
And the next week when we batted, we only made about 87 runs with all out. I batted and only faced 3 balls, and my other team mate got out. So I got 0 runs not out.

The finals are soon, we are second on the larder by 0.2 of a point.
And next week we hope that Grace and Naomi's team wins if we come first for the year, so we verse the worst team by far in the finals.

I hope we verse Grace and Naomi's team in the Grand Finals.

So sorry I didn't post for a while.

Happy New Year Everybody!!

It's now 2011!

I hope your having a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

To celebrate we went to a friends place on New Year's Eve

We had lot's of fun, but we didn't stay to the New Year.

But on New Years Day we went to the Speed-Way.

It was so awesome.

It started at 5PM and it went to 11PM

There were lot's of cars crashing.

This car clipped the wall and spun around and a car crashed into it.

A car spun around and another run up it.

Closer Shot.

And even a car fliped.

This car rolled about 4 times than ended up like this.

The driver didn't get hurt.

A car some how started to smoke, the driver wasn't injured.

A V8 Modified Car. They went fast.

Then before the finals there were fireworks.

The fireworks went for about 10 minutes the longest and best fireworks that I ever saw.

Last Friday we went to the movies, to watch The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader 3D!!

It was the first time I ever watched a 3D movie.

It was so awesome.

And it was a bit different then the book I'm sure.

I think it was heaps better than the other 2 Narnia movies.

Here are some funny stories that I picked up from a Camp that I went to last week.

Here they are:

Party

OneSaturday night at a guy’s home, there was a really big party there were morethan 50 people there.
Around midnight the owner of the property said “I’ll giveone million dollars to whoever jumps into the pool with the crocodile in it andwrestle it, and come back out of the pool alive” when he was still saying this heheard a splash.
When he turned around there was a guy in the pool wrestling forhis life, it was so cool.
The crowd was cheering for him, finally the guy cameout still in one piece, it was so amazing that the guy beat the crocodile.

Theowner came up to the guy and said “I’ll keep to my word and give you themillion”

The Very BadConductor

There was once a very badbus conductor. This conductor was so bad at doing his job that people missedtheir stations, he brought the wrong tickets for people, and those people gotlost and cranky at the conductor. Any way one day this man missed his stationso he jumped out the window, and got ran over by the buses rear wheel.

Now theconductor was in trouble, they took him away to jail and he was sentenced to getthe electric chair.

They asked him if he wanted any last thing, he said “Iwouldn’t mind a Bosc Pear” so they went looking for this pear, they finallyfound this Bosc Pear. They gave it to the bad conductor that was in theelectric chair, after he ate it they turned the power on but the conductor justsat they not even yelling.

After they stopped it he was still alive, they gotthe chair checked by the best electrician in Australia.

After he checked it andsaid, it was fine now. They strapped the conductor back into it and asked himif he wanted any last things before he died, he said “I wouldn’t mind anotherone of those Bosc Pears, so they went and got another one of this pear.

Afterhe ate it, they strapped him in and started it up, still the conductor didn’tdie, this was so weird. They asked him “Does this Bosc Pear give peoplelife” the conductor said “No I just like those Pears, I didn’t die because I’ma bad conductor”.

Last week the pool people came and started to dig

Removing the grass

Hit sand-stone, lots of it

Big problem

Their little jack-hammer could not get through the sand-stone

See there is still lot's of sand-stone, and it's still not deep enough

So we called in a massive excavator with a jack-hammer to remove the sand-stone

Here it is with the sand-stone removed enough for the pool to go in

Most of the dirt that came out of the hole

All of the sand-stone that came out of the hole

Putting a nice bed for the pool to rest on

The bed levelled out

Now the most exciting part, putting the pool in

Lifting the pool off the ground

Nearly there

Lowering it in the hole

Finally it's in

Installing the lights

Putting water in her

With the water in her and all the back-filling is done (back-filling is when they put sand all around the outside of the pool)

Now they just have to cement it, put paver's on the top of the pool and install the pump.

The new pool has been delivered

It was an exciting moment

The truck driver took awhile to get past the gate.

The truck needed help to get up the hill in our paddock.

The pool was stuck inside a pool the same size.

They finally got it out.

Here is the pool on the ground.
The digging for the pool is starting early next week.

How Mad Boys Are

This video is all about Tigger, but I taped it.

Tigger was trying to jump over a broken chair with his pogo stick but failed.

Tigger was being pretty stupid, and he said he was only faking the cry (I don't believe him!)

Taking the Pool Down

We're getting a new pool!!

We decided to take the old pool down (the new pool isn't going to be in the same place as the old pool)

This pool wasn't very big as you can see, and it was a pretty old one, an a above ground pool.

It didn't take long to pull it down

And now the hole where the pool used to be has some dirt in it, we want it nearly filled up with dirt.

We rode our bikes around on the concrete for a while until we removed all the concrete.
Our new pool will be 12 metres by 4.

The little ones made a couple golf-ball courses where the pool used to be, and one of them they put a jump so the golf-balls go through one pipe and jump to the next (Dad helped them a bit)

Well his name is Woody. He is a toy owned by a little boy called Andy.He has a brown cowboy hat, a yellow checkered shirt, a cow skinvest,blue denim jeans, big brown boots and a sheriffs badge.

Onhis back he has a string you can pull and he will say something like "There's a snake in my boot!!', or "Someone drowning in the water hole".
On the bottom of his boot the word Andy is written.

He Love's his friends and helps to keep everything and everyone in order.

Hegets Jealous of Buzz in the first movie because Andy likes Buzz as muchas he likes Woody when he is first given to Andy. Woody got very angry.But than Woody realised that he has to share Andy with Buzz.

We went to Ten Pin Bowling on Tuesday

It was heaps of fun
We went because it was a Home Education excursion

I'm pretty good.

My score was 113, it wasn't my best score but a pretty good score for me, my best score is 129.
I won in my lane
I got one strike and 5 spares.
And 4 of them I got in a row.

Frost

Bonfire

On the night before N.S's birthday we had a bonfire
It was the biggest bonfire we ever had at our place because we only have 3 acres, so there isn't very many trees.
Here are some photos:

This is L.J going to cook some marshmallows

The bonfire got pretty high

We cooked some twisty-damper, that tasted pretty good

And N.S, I.J, and I slept there over night by the fire.
It wasn't that cold, but Dad thought it was going to be freezing.

Race Day

Today we had the home schooling sports day we have every year.

It was so fun!

There was so many more people than usually there

The races included:

Age Race (100 metre sprint)

Long Distance (the age division I was in was 1200 metre's long)

Discus

Shot put

Long jump

Javelin

Then there were the fun ones

There was:

Team relays

3 legged race

Sack Race

And one of my favorites Tug of War, then usually after we done the ones for the teams we have the Dads vs Kids.

The position I came in the races:

First for Age Race (sprint)

Third for the long distance race (came first in my age division boys)

Second in the shot put

Second in the Discus

Second in Javelin

Second in Long Jump

My team "Green Machine" came first in points from the two other teams, the Red Rockets and the Blue Storm.

In Senior age division that is ages from 1993-1997, I had a tie with Legolas , with the points I got from all the races, and got a medallion for Senior Boys Champion.

Bird Nesting Box

This term for science Will Treaty and I are doing birds.

Last week we had to do a hands on project (what mum calls it) we had to make a bird nesting box or anything related to birds.

So I made a bird nesting box for a cockatoo.
It was a little bit hard to make, but I managed it.
It is made out of boards off pallets. I just cut them up to the right size then screwed them together.

But I haven't put it in a tree yet because it is too heavy.
It will go into one of the banksia trees because the black cockatoos go there to feed.

L.J's First Time Playing Soccer

3 weeks ago L.J played his first game of soccer.

The second week he played he got a goal, he was very happy (although I wasn't there to see it)

My team tied 2 all.

We versed the team that came first in the comp last year and won the grand-finals.

I didn't break a bone.

But I will not be able to be goal-keeper for about 3 more weeks.

My family went to the Show this year, it was the first time in 4 years.

Tigger and I went on the Dodgem Cars, it was lot's of fun.

Tigger was mean to everyone he crashed straight into everybody (not head on) always when another person went around a corner.

We watched a man that said what to do when a snake bit you and about different snakes how poisonous they were and lots of other things.
My little brothers and sister fed some sheep, goats and some pigs.
They had fun doing that I think!

Tigger and Sam went on a ride called the hang-over it went upside-down and swung up and down.
Sam felt very sick at the end, and Tigger loved it and wants to go on it again.

And then we got show bags and left.
It was awesome.

Soccer is Dangerous

Soccer is dangerous!!

You may as well play Rugby League (NRL, also called football)

It is dangerous because last week I got a black eye, and this week I broke the third finger on my right hand.

I was goal-keeper in the first half, and a person shot and I dived just missed the ball and landed on the finger that is broken.

I played the rest of the game not telling anyone and after the game we went to a friend's house to get some fire wood which we got from cut down trees.

Dad noticed that I was not using my right hand to pick up logs, when he looked at it he said that it was probably broken.

After we got the wood and went home Mum took me to Emergency at the hospital to find that my finger was broken.

My whole finger was nearly all purple and the rest of my hand is very swollen.

And now I won't be playing soccer for two weeks.

That game in the end was a 2 all draw.

A Riddle

This is a riddle that you can try and solve

A badman buried four men in the desert up to their necks.

Threeof the men were facing in one direction and the fourth man was facing the otherthree men but he couldn’t see them because there was a wall in the way.

The badman blind folded them and placed a white or black hat on each of them, therewere two white hats and two black hats. Then he removed the blindfolds.

Theorder of the hats: one on the far left is white, next one in is black, thenwhite and the end one is black. Tell me which man knew 100% what colour hat hehad on his head and why.

Rainbow Lorikeet

I’m circling the forest above
With my bright feathers on
And a hungry tum

Trying to find some sweet flowers to munch
Nectar and pollen for my lunch
Nectar and pollen is the food I love best
I just need a little rest

I find a bottle brush tree
I swoop down to see
A rosella eating my nectar

I am hungry
Go away I say
Come back another day

Finally I get my lunch
Yummy crunch crunch munch
Up into the sky I fly
Looking for another tree to try

Cricket

My cricket team won the grand finals 4 weeks ago.

It was my first time I ever got into some sort of grand finals.
The team we were playing was the team that we had troubles playing them, one game we played them we won by 1 run and the next time we played them they won by 2 runs.

Our team got them all out with 62 runs to spare, I'm not a very got batsman I will admit and I'm a all right bowler but in the grand finals I went hopeless and the same with batting I got a duck (if any one doesn't know what a duck is, it's 0.
And I can't wait until the end of this year to start playing cricket again.

Soccer Season starts

Soccer Season has just started.

I'm playing in the same team as last year but my Dad isn't coaching and some of the players went and there are two new players.
I played on field 1 which is the biggest field.

I'm playing in the U13/U14 this year.
We won our first game 6-0

No Internet

If you have been wondering why I didn't post for two weeks is because our internet has been broken and no one was able to come to fix it.

It's the second time it has broken and has been the same thing.

When the guy fixed it we received 677 emails altogether through all of our email addresses.

Mum was their for a long time reading them all.
