L.J's Birthday

My little brother L.J has how turned 5 years old.

On L.J's birthday we went to the beach in the morning, it was fun.

L.J had a circus party the next day,  I.J (Tigger)and I were clowns.

I have just finished Ranger's Apprentice The Ruins of Gorlan.

It was the best book I have ever read.

 It was a so good that I couldn't stop reading it.

Jazzy always wants to do something weird.

When it was Christmas she climbed up the Christmas tree, I think she just wanted to get all the Christmas decorations down off the Christmas tree.

She would climb up the Christmas tree and then after she hit a decoration she went back down.

One time she climbed right to the top of the tree.

She even liked hopping into the manger that we had made a couple of years ago.

She always liked to sleep in the manger.

Christmas and a Happy New Year

Did you have a nice Christmas? Because I did.

All of my family got a big trampoline that's lots of fun.

We also got a Smart Globe(its a globe that you use a pen to find more about the world) from our Nanna.

We had a New Years Eve party at our place it was fun, some of the people stayed until after midnight.

When I woke up I had only had 5 hours of sleep and I woke up at 6am then I went back to sleep after about 1 hour until about 9 am.

Then that whole day I didn't play or do very much because I was too tried.

Motor Bikes

We have three motor bikes.

We ride them around our paddock, our track is shaped like an oval.

(This is the 110cc motor bike)
Years ago we made jumps it was fun, but the motor bikes going over the wood wrecked them. We have a 110cc, 70cc and a 50cc motor bikes, I only ride the 70cc motor bike, because the 110cc motor bike's back brakes are too powerful and when you brake you always slide and I some times crash doing that.

Jazzy

We have a new member of our family Jazzy
We got a new cat yesterday, we called her Jazzy.

We wanted a cat for a long time because we had a different cat and there were no mice but when she died there started to be mice back in our house so we wanted to get a cat.

She is only 8 weeks old, she likes to play with these balls that we brought for her.

I wanted a new cat for 2 years because our old cat was nearly 16 human years old when she died.

I liked her the most, every one else didn't do anything to help our old cat, anyway she didn't come for anyone else except me or Mum.

She slept on my bed and love me because I fed her.

Jazzy likes to sleep on a window-sill and I want to look after her as I look after our old cat.

How Much Imagination Brother Four Has

My little brother is very clever at making things with his imagination.

He is very clever at making books, houses and lot's of other stuff he can make.
This is a house that he made one day when he wanted to make something.

 This photo is when he made it but he didn't paint it at this stage.
He made it with cardboard, string, and the helpful hot-glue gun.
The pieces of string that you see on the photo are his pulley thing that opens the windows and the door.

This is when he had painted the house.
He probably painted it red because it is his favorite colour.  

No Dig Garden

We made No Dig Gardens about 4 months ago.

No Dig Gardens are gardens that you don't need to dig.

 It was pretty fun using a dingo that we hired to dig out a big pile of dirt that used to be a other garden.
The dingo isn't a animal it is a mini digger.
Then we placed the big steel rectangles that we had made a couple of days before.

 We put about a quarter of dirt in each one, (We built 5 beds) and then we had to lay out newspaper in each one, then we laid out lots of bails hay in them.

Now they have lot's of vegetables and in one of the beds we have made a cage that we kept chickens in.

Tigger's Birthday

It was Tigger's birthday a couple of weeks ago.
He had a party and he invited me (well if he didn't invite me I would have been there anyway,) and I had fun going around in a tube getting pulled by our boat (if you're wondering when I said in my Meme this is a borrowed one from someone we know.)

And I think every one he invited loved going on the tube.

Jacaranda

It was Jacaranda a couple of weeks ago, Jacaranda is 2 weeks where Jacaranda trees are purple.

And there is Jacaranda Thursday in those 2 weeks.

Jacaranda Thursday is a festival on our main street, there's markets and the shops do plays (well I don't like most of the plays that the shops do) and in the morning you get free breakfast.

That Saturday after Jacaranda Thursday, are floats where lot's of trucks, cool cars, and school students are on the back of some of the trucks.
There are Jacaranda Queens each Jacaranda, and on one of the Sundays the Jacaranda Queens go to our church.   

Cricket

I'm playing cricket this year, it is fun.

I've played cricket before but last year I didn't play.

I play in the under 14's.

My age group plays each Friday night, it starts at 4pm and going to about 7pm.
Each game is played in 2 weeks.
The first week one of the teams bats and the other team fields. The next week the other team bats, each week there are 40 overs played.
I like batting but I am not very good at it, except in backyard cricket. I am fairly good at bowling.

Speed-Way

I went to the Speedway last Saturday with my family.

It was good fun, the best part of the Speedway was when some of the racer's had crashes.

The price was cheap (it was only $35 for  family on medicare card.)

There were Stockrods, Amca Nationals, Limited Sedans, Stocker's, Four Cylinders, and Juniors(14 to 16 year old's.)

There was a couple of crashes, in one of them the petrol tank lit on fire and the driver went around the track one more lap before he stopped. When he stopped a other car went smashing into it, the fire truck was in-front of the car for a while.

When we were waiting for the finals to begin, there was a panda in a car doing burn-outs.

The Speedway started 6:00pm and finished at 9:44pm.

I hope we go again soon.

Zoo

At the beginning of the year I went to Taronga Zoo in Sydney with my family.

It was fun, we took all day to look at all the animals.

There were lions, crocodiles, elephants, giraffes, tortoises, lots of birds, seals, and some penguins.

To get back to our car we had to go across a ferry and we just missed it, so we had to wait for another one.

My favourite animal was the elephant.

Bridge to Bridge

Yesterday we went to the Bridge to Bridge.
It is a famous ski race.
People from all over Australia come to participate in it.
The boats go 160 miles per hour.

It took the winning boat 37 minutes to go from the bridge at Grafton to the Harwood bridge and back again with 2 people skiing behind it.

At the end of the race all the boats get towed back to their trailers by a jet ski.
This is a picture of some boats getting towed back together.
Each boat is tied to the one in front.
You can just see the back of the jet ski in the picture.

hail storm

There was a hail storm the day before Father's Day. It was the biggest hail storm I have seen ever.
It covered the whole front and back yard.
The last hail storm we had was very small and the hail stones were only little mar-balls and the hail stones were only there for a short time.
But the hail on the yard lasted for 12 hours after this hail storm.

what I am learning

I have been learning about geology this term.

I found out lots about rocks and the earth's structure.
I have to do a science experiment every week.
I did one where you put heaps of Epsom salts into water until it wouldn't dissolve any more, and then you put it into an empty egg shell.
I had to leave it until it evaporated.
Then it formed crystal like stuff in the bottom of the egg shell.

I have been knitting a scarf for handcraft.

We have been learning about the Renaissance in History.
I have learnt about Christopher Columbus, Marco Polo, Shakespeare, Nicolaus Copernicus, Sir Walter Raleigh, Queen Elizabeth 1, Michelangelo, and Joan of Arc.


In Geography we are looking at different countries in Europe.
So far we have learnt about Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Poland, Netherlands and Austria.
Each week we make a meal from that country.

I made Hot Potato Salad last week for our German Meal.

soccer

This is me playing soccer,

I like being the goalkeeper.
I also like playing back,
I like being a forward too
but I don't get put in this position very much.
My team is called the Knights.
My team is in the finals.
My dad is the coach, he is a good coach.

little sister

This is A.R she is my only sister and the youngest in our family. She talks a lot, she is clever, she's cute and thinks she's the boss.
She is 2 and a half, and she wears her hair in piggy tails.
I love her very much, I had wanted a little sister for so long, but I kept getting brothers.
